Chris Brown - Milk makes you punch really hard...

In what could very well have been the turning point in his successful career, Chris Brown allegedly attacked his girlfriend Rihanna over the weekend. And the ramifications from the incident are numerous.

For one, the “Kiss Kiss” singer will no longer be a part of the “Got Milk” ad campaign- his ads will conclude their run later this week. A rep from “Got Milk” told press, "The Milk Mustache campaign is taking the allegations against Chris Brown very seriously. We are very proud and protective of the image of the Milk Mustache campaign and the responsible message it sends to teens. Mr. Brown's ad was launched last fall and is scheduled to end this week."In addition, the Wrigley Gum company has also decided to suspend Brown’s campaign with them until this whole ordeal is sorted out.

Chris has also pulled out of the upcoming NBA All-Star Weekend.

Dream, a Little Dream + Dream Audio

I said, fuck it. Let me put this one up too. It's bound to get your panties wet just as much.
Dream...a little Dream, the finest collection of Dream's songs presented by Seattle's finest Four Color Zack.

DOWNLOAD HERE

I did an interview with Dream recently for Cream World Magazine, and here's a tid bit of the end our conversation. He asks me if i love him....

Lola : What attracts you the most in a woman?
The Dream: Knowledge and knowing the simple things of life. I like a woman that can compare her life to others who may not have as much. A woman that can think and become more appreciative of things. Ni**as ain't just on Rodeo shopping and shit. I don't want to have to remind a girl about stuff like that. Knowledge is power when it comes to what I like in a female. Of course appearance has a lot to do with it, but it's not everything...especially when you get to a certain point.

Lola : What is the most extreme thing you have done to impress a female you have liked?
The Dream: Wow. Hmmm.

Lola: Okay fine, something corny...something out of your way.
The Dream: Okay I'll tell you something corny. I went and got the bubble bath and ten dozens of roses and put the petals in the bubble bath...

Lola: Did you hire somebody or did you do it yourself? (laughing)
The Dream: No I did it myself, I did it myself.

Lola: Do girls get all sweet when you say stuff like this?
The Dream: You're so crazy...I get a little more love...then they go crazy. (laughing) but anyways...with everything I've given a girl...I've never given myself...in the sense that I like to give to others more than to myself. I enjoy seeing other people smile. That's where these songs come from: the power that I get to create for other people.

Lola: That's so sweet. But those were all my questions. Anything else you'd like to say?
The Dream: Yeah, when are you going to tell the world that you are emphatically in love with me?
Here's what I said...

While we're in the mood...why don't you check out Dream's "ROCKING THAT THANG" video also.

LOVESTONED

love. taste. smell. feel. dream. think. please. throb. beat. grab. hold. touch.

touch some more.

that's Lovestoned for you.

50 goes Curly

As you are aware (and if you aren't - yes there are people unaware of this brawl) 50 Cent and Rick Ross are beefing. Short story: Ross put out a song dissing 50. Then 50 put out a song + cartoon+ baby momma interview as a response. Then Ross came back at Fif with "Kiss the Pinky Ring" which we didn't feel was even worth posting (lame). Now Fif goes back at Ross with this new video. He doesn't even feel making records dissing The Boss? are worth it. Ross needs to come back harder in his lyrics if he wants to make Fif look bad. Calling him "Monkey" throughout the record is nothing but ignorant.

Grammy Recap via. Twitter

I was not in LA this evening so I enjoyed the Grammys via my television set, BB messenger and of course the now infamous land of Twitter. I follow quite a few people and am now followed by about 400 or so, I tend to keep up with what's going on. The individuals I have chosen to follow play an important role in mass media, communications, music and arts, shaping social thought 1 tweet at a time.

Basically the general consensus in Twitter-ville was that the Grammys were not really as exciting as everyone thought they would be. Many were happy with the performance by M.I.A. x T.I. x JAY Z x KANYE WEST x LIL WAYNE, and some others thought it could have been better. T.I. & Justin Timberlake's perfomance was overall liked better than Robin Thicke & Lil Wayne, and there were mixed feelings about Wayne taking Best Rap Album of the year for "Tha Carter III." Conversation topics shifted slightly as updates started coming in about the Chris Brown and Rihanna incident.
Well so far, it has only been a Chris Brown incident as he was arrested on battery charges Sunday evening. He turned himself to the police around 7 PM PT.

(Thanx hustleGRL)

His bond has been set to 50,000.00 USD. Many beleive the female he assaulted was Rihanna due to her no-show at the Grammys. She canceled her performance half hour prior to the televised show and Justin Timberlake x Al Green x Boys II Men x Keith Urban took the spot (via Billboard.com). HipHopChronicle also reported that they had gotten word Rihanna had recently checked herself out of the hospital. We are all still waiting for updates.

Shocker in the hip-hop community on Twitter came from Robert Plant and Alison Krauss winning Best Album of the Year. Many beleived (me including) Coldplay would have been the easy win.

As far as appearances myself and Jen The Pen (www.jenthepen.com) were not too impressed with what M.I.A. was wearing at the performance (way overkill) and Mastaroonie thought Sheryl Crow was sporting a drape for a dress. I was a little concerned with Chris Martin sporting the belly top, but as Illionaire put it, Chris Martin is the man. Indeed he is. Not too many men can be that confident with their masculinity to expose their belly during The Grammys. A few weren't impressed with Lil Wayne's foot choice during his performance as "his shoes were bigger than him." I enjoy Wayne's crisp white tee look though. It's simple and sexy. T.I.'s performance look also left an impression, as a few people thought he looked fly. I think he always looks fly (except for when he wiped his shirt on himself).

And that's if for me and the Grammy's via Twitter.

GRAMMY RECAP VIA BILLBOARD

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss were the big winners at the 51st annual Grammy Awards at Los Angeles' Staples Center, tallying five trophies, including album of the year for the Rounder project "Raising Sand" and record of the year for "Please Read The Letter." "We are thrilled and very grateful to everybody who is excited for us," Krauss said. "I'm bewildered," Plant said. "In the old days we would have called this selling out -- but it's a good way to spend a Sunday." The wins came on top of their victories for pop collaboration with vocals for "Rich Woman," as well as best country collaboration with vocals for "Killing the Blues" and best contemporary folk/Americana album. Krauss and Plant performed both "Rich Woman" and "Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On)" during the show. "This project has been spectacular from the beginning," Plant said. "We're very proud of the job T-Bone Burnett did for us to make it so good."

The album of the year honor was presented by Green Day, who also announced the title of their new album, due in May, will be "21st Century Breakdown."

Lil Wayne won rap album of the year for "Tha Carter III" as well as best rap solo performance for "A Milli," rap song for "Lollipop" and rap/sung collaboration for "Swagga Like Us" during the pre-telecast. The artist, who joined Allen Toussaint, Terence Blanchard and Robin Thicke for a musical salute to New Orleans, led the nominee field going into tonight with nods in eight categories.

U2 kicked off the broadcast by performing its new single, "Get on Your Boots." The first major award of the night, song of the year, went to Coldplay for "Viva La Vida," which the group performed as part of a medley that began with surprise guest Jay-Z rapping on "Lost." While accepting, drummer Guy Champion jokingly apologized to Paul McCartney for "blatantly recycling" the Beatles' outfits from the "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" era. The song also won best pop performance by a duo or group with vocals during the pre-telecast, and Coldplay later won best rock album for "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends." "We're not, of course, the heaviest of rock bands -- you may have noticed," frontman Chris Martin said. "We're kind of the limestone of rock bands. Not as hard, but still charming." Whitney Houston made a surprise appearance to present Jennifer Hudson with the trophy for best R&B album for her self-titled Arista debut. Hudson, whose mother, brother and nephew were murdered in Chicago last fall, was overwhelmed by emotion as she accepted the Grammy. "I would like to thank my family in heaven and those who are here today," she said. The artist later performed "You Pulled Me Through" with the help of a choir. Trumping the Jonas Brothers and Duffy, 20-year-old British vocalist Adele was a surprise winner for best new artist, having already won best female pop vocal performance for "Chasing Pavements." She later performed the song with Sugarland.

There was drama before the Grammys even began, as Rihanna canceled her performance about a half-hour prior to the telecast. Speculation is rampant that the move is connected to a domestic battery incident involving her boyfriend, R&B star Chris Brown, early this morning in L.A. A segment with Brown performing his hit "Forever" was also scrapped; Brown turned himself in to local police around 7:15 p.m. PT.

Al Green, Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban and Boyz II Men gave an impromptu performance of "Let's Stay Together" in Rihanna's place. Other performances included Radiohead playing "15 Step" with the USC marching band, Dave Grohl drumming with McCartney and his band on "I Saw Her Standing There," an extremely pregnant M.I.A. joining Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and T.I. for "Swagga Like Us," Carrie Underwood with "Last Name," which earlier won best female country vocal performance, and a Kid Rock medley dedicated to Lynyrd Skynyrd keyboardist Billy Powell, who died late last month. Teen queens Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus joined up on Swift's "Fifteen," while Neil Diamond led a sing-a-long on "Sweet Caroline." The Jonas Brothers played "Burnin' Up," and then teamed up with Stevie Wonder to sing "Superstition." West joined Estelle for their Grammy-winning "American Boy," and newcomer Katy Perry delivered a saucy, theatrical performance of "I Kissed a Girl."

There were also multi-artist tributes to the Four Tops and Bo Diddley. Sugarland won best country performance by a duo or group with vocals for "Stay," having already won best country song for it during the pre-telecast. "I told myself I was going to be cool because Paul McCartney and Coldplay are here," said lead singer Jennifer Nettles. "I'm so not cool." Neil Portnow, president and CEO of the Recording Academy, took a political bent in his comments, noting that President Barack Obama is a two-time Grammy winner for the spoken word performance for his books, and that the Academy will continue to push for the enactment of Performance Rights Act. In addition, he asked Obama for the development of a cabinet-level position dedicated to culture and the arts. There was also some reunion news during the broadcast. Before presenting Coldplay with best rock album, the members of Blink 182 announced they were getting back together after a four-year hiatus. "We used to play music together, and we decided we're going to play music together again," said drummer Travis Barker, still with his arm in a sling following his survival of a deadly plane crash last year.

Here are the Grammy Awards presented during the telecast:
Best R&B album: "Jennifer Hudson," Jennifer Hudson
Best country performance by a duo or group with vocals: "Say," Sugarland
Song of the year: "Viva La Vida," Coldplay
Best pop collaboration with vocals: "Rich Woman," Robert Plant and Alison Krauss
Best rock album: "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends," Coldplay
Best new artist: Adele
Record of the year: "Please Read The Letter," Alison Krauss and Robert Plant
Best male pop vocal: "Say," John Mayer
Best rap album: "Tha Carter III," Lil Wayne
Album of the year: "Raising Sand," Robert Plant and Alison Krauss

New Column!!!

As I was waiting for Rome to come grab me from Yorkdale tonight to head to Taj's, I went inside Indigo's to read some material...maybe find a book or two I could grab. I somehow ended up in the magazine section and I thought I'd check out if the new issue of Cream World Magazine had come out.
I don't think I told you guys this, but I just got a new column on a Canadian lifestyle magazine titled Cream World (www.creamworld.ca)
Found the mag at Indigo's and sure enough, found my column too!
Make sure you go get your copy!!!

New Movie - "He's just not that into you"

Yesterday my best friend Sarah and I went to the Scotiabank Theatre in downtown Toronto for the opening night of the movie "He's Just Not That Into You" based on the book by the same title. If you haven't read the book, don't worry...you can still watch the movie...mind you, I felt the movie was completely different from the book.
Isn't that how they always are anyways?
...Well so we got there at about 10 for the 10.40 movie and everything was sold out. Thank God somehow 5 seats became available, and we were able to grab two tickets. WHEW for a second we didn't think we'd make it. Once we got upstairs...that's where the craziness began. The line up to get in (to the 10.40 MOVIE!!) went all the way back in the corridor behind the main area. Crazy.
Somehow we made it in...got great seats and got all cozy for the movie.
It was....
absolutely awesome.
Rez and I totally have another chick-flick-movie-date so that I can watch it again.
Yup. It was THAT good.
I was even clapping at certain scenes and letting out little "yay's"
Yup. It was THAT good.

The cast was also pretty charming:
Ben Affleck
Jennifer Aniston
Drew Barrymore
Scarlett Johanson
Jennifer Connelly
Kevin Connolly
Bradley Cooper
Ginnifer Goodwin
Justin Long

Whew...Very entertaining.

And in case you are not familiar with the storyline....

Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo from the famous "Sex and the City" TV show, wrote a book titled "He's just not that into you" for women who did not know how to take no for an answer. The book primarily focuses on heterosexual relationships and the blind eye that women turn to men who don't treat them properly. It's very eye opening material if your head is as thick as a brick. There are a lot of females who don't know the word NO, or understand hints and tips and signals. Greg & Liz did a fabolous job with the book, and eventhough I personally didn't feel the book + movie were the same, I thought it was a pretty damn good plot. The book has been pretty helpful to some of my girlfriends, so if you're in for a treat, check it out. It's no mind blowing information, but it's a lot of common sense you refused to accept.

- You deserve a phone call.
